Bafang Dumpling
About This Spot
Stepping into Bafang Dumpling in the heart of City of Industry brings a sense of casual comfort, reminiscent of a bustling Taiwanese street eatery transplanted into a Southern California neighborhood. The pace here moves steadily — not rushed, but purposeful — echoing the rhythm of a local favorite where familiar faces might linger over a quick bite or a satisfying meal between errands.
The atmosphere is straightforward and unpretentious, with brightly lit interiors and a welcoming setup that invites you to order at the cashier and then settle in for a short wait before your number is called. Seating is ample, designed for sharing space with friends or family without frills but with a certain homely ease. It’s the kind of spot where the focus is on straightforward, hearty food that connects you to Taiwan’s everyday flavors.
What makes Bafang Dumpling quietly special is the warmth that comes through in each handmade dumpling and steaming bowl of broth. The menus here offer familiar comfort — potstickers that invite you to craft your own dipping sauce from a well-curated station, or rich noodle soups that carry a nostalgic balance of boldness and subtlety. Even the quick bites like fried chicken cutlets and bowls of corn chowder feel like gentle nods to home-cooked satisfaction.
Everything feels thoughtfully simple, inviting diners to savor those small, honest moments — a spoonful of hot and sour soup, the snap of a dumpling wrapper, the cool sweetness of Oolong boba milk tea — all unfolding within an atmosphere that’s quietly alive with local rhythm. Whether you’re stopping by to remind yourself of familiar tastes or exploring these flavors for the first time, Bafang Dumpling holds a space that feels steady and welcoming, a peaceful pause amid the everyday buzz.

$10 for the braised pork rice is very good! But please add more braised pork sauce might taste even better. Thank you!

This restaurant is a fast-food style Taiwanese spot where you order at the cashier and pick up your food when your number is called. There are plenty of seats inside. We tried Combo #1, which includes #12 pot stickers and a bowl of sour and spicy soup. The soup was unexpectedly delicious, loaded with ingredients and full of flavor. The pot stickers were served warm (not hot), but the wrappers could have been crispier. The beef noodle was good too. Overall, it's a decent fast-food restaurant.

They have a decent variety of pot stickers and noodles. Maybe less authentic than a full fledged dumpling restaurant, but it still hit the spot. I had the combo number three, which has six signature dumplings and six signature potstickers and a big bowl of corn chowder for $14.95. It was definitely a decent size portion. My daughter had the bowl of beef dry noodles for $14.50. She enjoyed it. The corn chowder leaves room for improvement. I didn’t know it had egg in it and it was a bit watery.

Ordered the #1 combo, #8 combo, and an oolong boba milk tea with half sweetness. The Oolong boba milk tea was decent for a non tea shop and went well with the meal. The #1 combo had a good sweet and sour soup as well as a set of dumplings. These dumplings tasted great with the build-your-own sauce that you can create at a separate station. The #8 combo includes a tea drink already and has old fashioned noodles and a crispy fried pork chop. The old fashioned noodles had a nice soy sauce base with some light greens. The crispy fried pork chop was served sliced with some pickled veggies. These pork chops were thin but very juicy and tender. Service here was very fast from ordering at the counter to getting our digital buzzer to alert us our food was ready. The interior has a lot of dumpling inspirational text about their background and such. The location is in a somewhat busy mall area with plenty of parking and shares retail space with a few other trendy meal options.

I have been eating in Bafang all the time when staying in Taiwan. Finally I was able to try it in SoCal today. The potstickers and noodle are good. Also ordered the side dish which has a combination of bean curd, cucumbers and beef. Overall, they taste good. It’s close to the hometown’s flavor.

haven't been here for a while now. for once this place isn't so crowded. this place had been around for a few years now and it has always been packed. food is still good but changed a little. there is a new dish but i didn't get to try it, but I'll definition would return to try it. they did added a fountain drink machine and removed tea options probably due to lack of sales on their tea. their tea was good just not fancy like other Boba shops nearby and kids just like soda more. i would still eat here because it is just simple menu.
